The POWER NY agreement reached by Governor Cuomo and the State Legislature puts back in place a process to site power plants with significantly stronger environmental protections.

On August 4, 2011, the City of New York released an independent analysis on the impact of closing the Indian Point Energy Center. Key findings show that closing the facility would cause energy prices to rise, electrical grid instability and measurable increases in air emissions.
